Gaming and Linux?

Hey guys,

Just a quick question for you Linux users..

How does it run with games?

Basically I play WoW and Steam games (CS; Halflife; Ect). So I was wondering if games run smoother in Linux, also do you get better FPS? The plan is ...if it is worth changing to have all my games running from Linux, and than just using windows to surf the net / download windows.

So in general, is this worth the effort and would it benefit at all to do something like this?

umm you can't play CS:S, WoW or any windows games on linux

however, you CAN use linux for basic web browsing and windows for gaming
 
Thats not entirely true... there are programs that will let you play windows games on Linux such as wine, but it is sort of limited as to what games are compatible. Research 'wine' and it will tell you what games you can use.
 
I used to use linux, because of problems with XP,(VIRUS).
I went back to XP because of some Programs I needed.
If you are into gamming, don't use Linux. WINE Can't handle that much.
