Gaming: Better CPU or GPU

I am about to purchase a Dell XPS Studio 7100 for my new gaming computer and i have the option of 2 different things...

1) AMD Phenom™ II X4 820 + ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB

2) AMD Phenom™ II X4 945 + ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB

Mainly what i am asking is should i get a better CPU or GPU for gaming. All i really do on my computer is game so thats my main focus. Also knowing if these CPUs and GPUs with 3GB of memory would run WoW and MW2, those kinda games at a fairly decent framerate would be nice to :D

Any help would be great :D

Go with #1. The 5670 isn't exactly an ideal graphics card, its more a mid-low range but it'll beat the pants off the 5450, which is basically just a media card (HD videos etc.). But it should be capable of at least minimum settings if not higher on MW2 and it'll be plenty for WoW.

+1, first option is better as far as gaming goes. a 5670 will be OK for medium resolutions, anything up to 1680x1050 it will play games decently on. Ideally 1440x900 is a perfect resolution for gaming on a 5670, it can handle that quite well.
Difference between the 820 and 945 is very negligable, you would never even notice. But as mentioned, the 5450 cannot play games at all it's a very weak card.

Aren't you guys exaggerating a little?

I mean, CardboardSword, if I can run MW2 on max high everything at 1680x1050 and still get 90fps, I think a 5670 would run it plenty well with the same settings. And WOW is chump compared to that.

And 87dtna, I've got a 5470 on my laptop, while I've not tried MW2 on it, it runs L4D2 at 1080 just fine with medium high settings. The 5450 isn't just media.

*That is, assuming you're not trying to run 15 monitors off of the one card with full 7 Aero and other unnecessarily stupid benchmarks at the same time.

I have never played LFD2 so I'm not sure how graphically intense that is, although I thought it was a lot more than a 5450 could handle.

A 5450 and 5470 both have 80 stream processors, and 12.8 gb/s memory bandwidth. A 5670 has 400 SP's and 64 gb/s bandwidth.

I have no idea how you are able to play LFD2 on a 5470 at any resolution let alone at 1080p, seems quite impossible to me.

Ok guys, how does this sound for gaming?

AMD Phenom™II X4 945 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

and

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card

Any better?

It's better than the two mentioned above by a long way, for gaming.
