how can i bring it down to like 550?

If you're wanting a budget build you can save A LOT of money by going with AMD and ATI. They perform almost as good as Intel for about half the price. seriously though, check out my build because I spent the last couple days researching it. It's the best computer $600 can buy ;)

got it...

yes, but mine needs to be able to stay up to date for about 3-5 years and my parts are much much much more future proof....

I wouldnt get the 8600GT. Get an ATi x1950Gt for $120 and it outperforms the 8600GT. And you wont be doing anything that would require dx 10 on the 8600GT, so the x1950gt is a much better choice.

How is a weaker computer more "future proof" than a more powerful computer? The HD3850 utilizes a more up-to-date version of Direct X than any video card in nvidia's 8000 series so if anything my build is MORE "future proof" (if that's going to be a viable term). The computer you've designed isn't even up-to-date by today's standards. You'd probably get 15 FPS on low settings on Crysis.

Stop asking for help from people if you aren't going to take their advice.

Get the 3850 512mb edition, its only like $200 and it is like 4x better then the 8600gt. Not really but it has over 2x the frames per seconds in crisis and gears of war.
