Was wondering what kind of builds you guys would make if you have $999.99 to spend. You can choose to include or not include monitor. It needs to play games(like bioshock) pretty well, by the way.

Well, you know windows 7 aint out yet...so ull prolly wanna include windows vista in the price list:P I wouldnt recommend a 22" monitor at 1680x1050, 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 would look better for about the same price. Personally i would rig similar to yours, but with a few changes:

Rosewill Case: $49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147083

OCZ StealthXtream 700 Watt Power supply: $94.99, $79.99 after Mail In Rebate FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341019

Evga 750i Mobo: $129.99, $109.99 After Rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188033

Intel Q9400 Quad Core CPU: $219.99 FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115131

Corsair 1066Mhz DDR2 4Gb Memory: $59.00, $39.00 after Rebate: FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145215

Xigmatek S1283 Cpu Cooler: $36.99, $26.99 after Rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233003

Nvidia GTX260 896MB Gpu: $184.99, $164.99 After Rebate FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130464

Western Digital Caviar Black 640gb Hard Drive: $79.99 FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319

LG DVD+/- RW Drive- Black : $24.99 FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136152

Microsoft Window Vista Home Premium x64: $99.99 FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488

All that comes to.... $980.91 before rebates, not including monitor. After rebates it comes to $895.91, And then i would have to recommend this monitor:

Asus 21.5" 1920x1080 monitor $179.99 FS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236053

With the monitor it would be $1160.90 before rebates, and $1075.90 after rebates. Just a few notes on this over scouts list is this has a motherboard with sli capability, so down the road you could add another Gtx 260 to get nearly double the graphics power, Faster memory, a better cpu cooler(The zalman 9700 is more geared towards dual cores, S1283 is alot better on a quad), better gpu, and a higher output power supply. If you are looking for a monitor, keyboard and mouse included in your rig then i would go for scout's list, but this list here would give you a little bit better performance, although i would recommend the 1920x1080 monitor on either build;) Plus you need to have an operating system such as windows vista x64, as windows 7 can only be acquired.... in ways that cant be talked about here:P

By the way, items marked FS have free shipping;)

Any reasons for a Q9650 over a Q9400? They all overclock essentially the same... only difference is half the cache.

yeah... Im not really sure if 6mb cahce is worth 100 bucks, is it? If you get that, scratch 100 bucks, get a second dvd burner (2 is ALWAYS better than 1) annnnnnnnnd another hard drive?

bomberboysk your link to the motherboard you selected sends you (or me at least) to the power supply you linked.
