and agian, give me some suggestions. i hardly know night from day, nevermind building computers.
oh, and does anyone know if the razer mouse/keyboard works with windows 7?

are you looking for a budget build or are you going all out? in other words, what is your budget? you could do much better on some things.

1K for just the computer? With that budget, you definitely don't want an old LGA 775 rig...no point in using old stuff. Same with the video card.

Here's a pretty balanced rig, I think. I thought about going Intel, but then the rest of the parts wouldn't be as good as they are. Same with the GPU...thought about a 58XX, but it'd crowd other things out.

CPU- AMD Phenom II x4 965:

Mobo- MSI 790FX-GD70: (awesome chipset on this one!)

GPU- XFX Radeon HD5770:

RAM- G-skill Ripjaws 4GB:

Hard Drive- Seagate 500GB: (this one is wicked fast...benchmarks higher than some SSD's)

PSU- Corsair 850W:

Case- NZXT Zero 2: (Definitely as good as the other one, but cheaper.)

OS- Win7 Home 64bit OEM
(same as what you posted):

DVD Burner (lite-on):

Totals to $996 after rebates. (Every part on there ships free!)

I suck at doing builds. It took me months to get mine right and finally order it so I cant put a built together for you but I will say that you can have better with that budget. You could have a build with an 1156 or 1366 cpu socket. (those sockets support the "i" lne of cpus like i7 and i5) Good luck.

Both are on the must-list if you're building a gaming pc alright.

Ain't 750 sufficient?

Definitely alright.

Drenlin covered you pretty good here. I second every option.

is 650w not enough for Drenlin's post? 850w is nearly twice the price, and sounds a little overkill.

Im using the same processor, It's amazing. you just have to go into your BIOS and turn off cool n' quiet though because it downclocks your cpu to save energy when you're not using it. But it doesn't kick into gear right away when you play games.

ditch the 5770 for a xfx 4890. Anyone will tell you for the same price the 4890 will outperform the 5770 any day. The xfx 4890 is only $170 at Best Buy (yea I know it's best buy but for a $170 4890).

Bahaha the corsair 750 is still a little over the top. I have the Corsair 650 and Im running an Asus 5850 with no problems. I love the thing so much.

Don't get an XFX 5770. they are using a custom PCB that has less features. get any other brand. Sapphire, Asus, HIS are some i would recommend.
