Gaming Card

Right now I have an integrated video cards that cam with my prebuilt HP. Other than the video card my computer is plenty capable of running high performance games. I need a PCI-E card that will allow me to play all the games on the market now and any in the upcoming future. what should I look for? Which cards should I look at? I want to spend as little as possible to get what I want.
 
How big is your price range?
If you want to blow the water and play any game on high settings then try any of the 7800's line. The GT is very good, but the GTX will last you a little longer. If you plan on spending some, but not a lot try the 6800's or the X800's. And if you want to just be able to play some games try the 6600's line... newegg is down at this time so I'll try some other sites in just a second
 
I'll have this computer for about a year and a half at which point ill be getting a laptop for college. I dont need the graphics card to last any longer than that. I don't want to spend any more than $300 and I'd like to keep it $150-$200. Is this possible?
 
The 7800GTX is deffinately out, the 7800GT is very high. The 6800GS is almost exactly what I'm looking for. I'd rather spend more now then wish I had in 6 months.
 
The 6800 series isn't a bad line. They used to be in the fastest computers back in the day (back in the day meaning not more than 6 months ago:D). Get the 256mb version and you said it was PCI-E? If you can't get the frame rates you want, I highly recommend OCing that puppy. A fully OCed 6800 can give you plenty of gaming action till you go to college.
