gaming comp

Counter Strike Source, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Quake 4, F.E.A.R., are the newer fun games. I personally have played...none of them, but everyone raves about them.

Anyway he said he wanted a "gaming comp" dont get an Intel. Well, according to the new tests AMD is better overall, not just gaming.

I dunno if you did, but I can see why you would get yelled at. No harm in liking AMD, but with a post like the one a few posts back it's all mis-interpreted.

It's already been stated the "test" of the Intel vs. AMD was a bit off, their tests were unconventional, and the "landslide" win for AMD as people like to call it, was merely a few points here and a few points there. Not to mention we are talking about "points" here, and not real-world testing...so it's all synthetic data that we are comparing. Personally I think you could rig that comparison to have AMD win today and Intel win tomorrow...

Stating that AMD is better for gaming no matter what is a biased opinion, as Intel gaming computers are wide spread and just as popular (although not on this forum.) And "overall" win by AMD is also a biased statemtnt, because if it was true no one would buy Intel if it was that obviosu. AMD might win a benchmark competition here, but look at another review where they lose. People just choose to ignore there weak points when recommending their favorite processor, and only mention the positive. Just my views.

another suggestion:

AMD 3200+ - 163
G.skill 2gb (4 x 512) (cas 2.5) - 139
160gb hdd - 74
7800GT - 300
chaintec VNF4 - 64
NEC dvd burner - 40

total: 780

add in psu, case and other accessories u want, or possibly upgrade motherboard and ur good.

Jesus go easy on the posting, if no one has posted and you some thing else to say, click edit and add it so you dont have 10 posts.

People dont wait around at your thread, give us a chance, sheesh.

Anyway those PSU's are fine, if you want good ones, Enermax, OCZ, Thermaltake are the good brands.

A CPU fan is optional...
