ibuypower.com is a good place. as for parts just use the 101's to help you. i would recommend getting a 7600gt or a 7800gt if it fits the budget.

which is better ibuypower, cyberpowerpc, or monarchpc?

and do i need a dual core processor, or will single-core be fine?

not sure which is better but mornarch can be a bit pricey and ive heard good things about ibuypower but ahvent heard anything about cyberpowerpc.

it depends on what you plan to do. if its just gaming and simple things then a single core would be good if you wanna go cheap. a dual core like an AMD x2 would be best as thier good at multi tasking and gaming. check out CPU 101 to help you better.

well im only doing like having ventrillo runnig and then lets say WoW playing. Is that ok? And will sinlge-core run oblivion good without lag?

oh well then ya a single core would be fine. and i think youll be able to spend more on the other things like the monitor.

Take a look at Computer Specs 101. These systems don't include a monitor or software, but depending on what sort of monitor you're looking for, something like the $1000 Play Machine would serve you well, and leave plenty of money left over for your monitor/software.

On another note, with that sort of a budget i'd definitely recommend dual-core. Modern and future games are/will be written to take advantage of the two cores, providing a significant performance boost.

Monarch seems to be cheapest, and they have a bigger selection of parts. Although I've never ordered from any of them so I dont know.
