Hello everyone.
I have recent bought myself components for a Gaming Computer.
AMD FX-6100 AM3+ 3.3GHz 14MB 95W Black Edition Six Core Processor
nVidia GTX 560
Patriot 4GB (2x2GB) G2 Series DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Memory
Asus M5A97 PRO S/L AMD Motherboard
Everything is fitted into my computer. Every wire connected, every component clicked in. I thought this should be a fairly good setup that can run high end games (ie Skyrim) with no frame drops.
What I'm confused about? I'm getting frame spikes while playing Skyrim. Even when I play Minecraft the FPS goes from about 100 FPS to 1-10 FPS for no reason (I have to exit out of it to get it to stop).
The point of this thread is to get some answers why this is happening, to check if I have everything working (if anyone knows any programs that can help). My brother has his computer with components worse than mine, but playing his games with no frame drops, not even Skyrim.
If anyone needs any extra information about my computer I'd gladly give it to you. I just want my computer to be what it should be.
(If anyone could help me with overclocking too, I'd be very thankful).
