gaming computer for the wife ASUS G73?

I am in the market for a gaming computer, is this computer able to handle running everquest 2 on the max settings, or should i be looking in another direction. Any info would be extremely helpful. trying to get this for my wife's birthday.
 
Yes, for sure. I wanted that laptop for a while. My grandmother got a laptop without asking me about it, she paid $1000 for a 15 inch with an i5 clarkdale and a 750 GB hdd, I would of told her to get that Asus.

What's your budget? I've noticed some of them are a lot pricier than others($860-$1700). Depends on what specs it has.
 
If she's not moving around, then maybe look into a desktop? They generally get higher frames per second, run cooler and are cheaper than laptops.
 
Yeah, that's true. That lappy is huge and prob has 1 hour battery life. Possibly a $800 desktop and a kindle fire? (Or playbook!) You could build her one to make it awesome.
 
The G73 is a good laptop, I owned one--till I dropped it..long story..

But it's old now, over year and a half--look around for a newer model!
 
OP: you mentioned needing a gaming computer but not specifically whether you want a laptop or a desktop. If you get a laptop powerful enough to run resource hogging games, you'll end up relying on the ac cord more than the battery anyway so perhaps a desktop is more what you'd be interested in. Just a thought.
