Gaming Computer please help!!

My computer is pretty crappy as of now, im a pretty hardcore computer gamer but i dont have the money to buy those $400 video cards etc. so if anyone can help i need suggestions as to what to buy for my computer to make it as good as possible without spending a lot of money. Heres what my pc looks like . . .

Windows XP professional
502 mb of RAM
Direct X 9.0
Manufacturer: Gateway
Video Chip: Intel(R)82915G/GV/910GL Express chipset
Dispay mode:1280x1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)

If there is any more info needed on my pc just ask im kind of a rookie so idk whats REALLY important :) Please make any suggestions and i appreciate it!! thanks everyone!
 
512 mb's ram isn't good for gaming. 1gb - 2gb is needed.

Atleast an intel pentium d and up.

And I don't really understand your question at all?

No offense, but for an hardcore gamer, that computer is sad... :(

New computer time. Budget? You can make an pretty good one with like $200-250
 
Yea, i do feel like quite the idiot at the moment, I am not good with computers at all and i would say i have a budget of about $300, so should i just start from scratch and buy a new computer? online you can build your own relatively cheap comparing to bestbuys $2000 "gaming computers" and like i said earlier im quite the rookie, so sorry about this but half the stuff you guys are telling me to buy idk what it even is!! if you could like label what it is like "graphics card: etc etc" that would be really cool :) thanks again for all the help guys i really, really appreciate it!!
 
And another note are the games i would like to run smoothly on my PC
-World of Warcraft
-Battlefield 2
-Call of Duty 4
-Titan Quest
-Tabula Rasa

yes! this computer looks awesome, cant wait, i have never built a computer from scratch though. I heard it isnt as hard as it sounds though. I wouldnt have to sauder anything right? just plug the stuff in? :P
