Is the Hp d4500y with the following specs good for gaming?

Windows Xp media center Edition
Intel Pentium D 940 (3.2GHz, 4mb, 800MHz FSB)
2GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)
400GB 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drive
56K bps data & fax modem
256MB DDR ATI Radeon X 1600XT, Tv-out and DVI
Sound Blaster Audigy 4, 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio

Thanks

gaming computer = good video card, well mostly, otherthing matter too though

well, get at least radeon x1800 series, and the cpu, pentium d 930 and 940 has very little performance difference

most people stick with 930 than 940...

is it a built computer from hp? how much does it cost?
it seems really good, and also i am guessing the price is really cheap?
i would buy it, sounds good to me, just enough to play any game you want
well, window vista is comming up soon, and i also heard some pc's actually comes with beta version...

If i switch models i can get:
Intel Pentium D 940 (3.2Ghz, 4MB, 800MHz FSB)
500GB (2x 250) 7200rpm SATA 3Gb/s & NCQ Hard drive
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS, tv-out & 2 DVI
2GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)
LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti dr
19-inch LCD screen
56k bps data & fax modem
Sound Blaster Audigy 4, 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio
for $1884.99. I've researched on computers for quite a bit because im saving up for one and Hp sounds the best so far. I didnt know if it was good for gaming though. THis is the m7560y series if youre wondering.

Thanks

thats a lot. you can probably build it for cheaper with a better CPU. if you really want an hp, go for the amd version

I got the rig in my sig for 1250 shipped on ebay. I would gladly give you the name of the ebay seller, he has some awesome deals, and he is absolutely awesome to work with. He wasnt happy with the stock cpu cooling, so he upgraded it for free. He is now the only person I get computer parts from.

woow, 4 free? what kind of cooling does it have now? and can you give me his user name? i would like 2 see what kind of stuff he has 3 sale.

Yeah man, he also custom builds rigs, so if you have something in mind just tell him what you need, and he will build it for you. It was an arctic 64 cooler, they are like 25 bucks. Not a lot, but it shows that he cares about the customer, this was before his warranty, now he offers a one year warranty. His ebay store is called smittybits.

I am sorry but that computer really stinks for the price. You could build one for that price and it would be a top gaming computer.
