Gaming CPU

X2 3800+ deffently, because next year they will be releasing games that are compatable with dual core cpu`s, unreal tournament 2007 is one of the first ones i think.

well for gaming right now and probably the next year, maybe less, the 4000+ will be the top of the line gaming processor besides the fx-57.

What about Colin McRae4? Or Bioncle? or Perimeter? (which are all multithreaded and currently available)

What about the FX55?

Colin McRae4's multi-threading is just another thread to create weather in the distance, which is why it looks better than the XBOX. In the near future im sure we'll see games with many threads, like the future XBOX 360 games will be.

i agree... go dual core, thats what i did. i just o/ced mine to 2.4ghz and it runs about the same at a single core 3800+... its very nice for both single and multiple-threads.

the 3800 x2 is faster than the 3800 regular 3800.
its like comaring a amd athlon xp at 2.2ghz to a and athlon 64 at 2.2ghz
(i believe)

No its not. The X2-3800 is a 2.0GHz chip, the 3800 is a 2.4Ghz chip.
