Gaming Laptop Advice

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a new laptop to replace my desktop PC. My budget can go anything up to 1600 US, maybe a little more if necessary. Mainly I'd be using it for gaming and I'd also like a high quality HD screen for films. The problem I have is that I moved to the carribbean to work 3 months ago and I'll be here for the forseeable future, so I need a laptop that is reliable (since tech expertise is close to 0 here). The two laptops I was looking at were the Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7384 and the Alienware M17x. I was almost sold on the alienware laptop but I read quite a few reviews complaining about errors with the machine and poor customer service (if there was an error It would be difficult to even to send it back to the manufacturer).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,

MSI GT780DXR, i7, 12GB of RAM, 1TB HDD, GTX570M 1.5GB VRAM. My buddy has the year older model, which has 16gb of ram but only a GTX560M, and it really is one of the best laptops I've seen period, not just for gaming. It's pretty hard to beat for the price and you get the 1080p screen you're looking for with some awesome build quality.

Just wanted to add his battery life runs about 2 hours unplugged HD gaming.

Thanks for the suggestions. It seems like the ASUS might be the best choice for me, seems to have the right combination of reliability and performance. Think I might have to buy it for myself as a christmas present. Thanks again.
 
Asus makes great gaming laptop, especially for the price. As far as reliability goes, I have an Asus gaming laptop running 24/7 and has been online for as much as 90 days straight without any issues.
 
Sadly a desktop is not an option due to the arrangements I'd have to make to get it brought over (not found a company yet who delivers here, and even if they did the postal service is notorious unreliable, a friend of mine got an advent calender in August...).

I took the suggestions to our IT guy and he put his vote in for the ASUS too, its also a little easier on delivery since I can get it off amazon. So it has been ordered, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly with getting it over damage free.
