Gaming Laptop for around $400?

That Acer is decent, what is your definition of strategy? Do you mean RTS? The 730 GT should be able to handle RTS. The only thing I can tell you about that 730 GT is it would be like years ago when I bought a Hp desktop with a Nvidia 8500 GT graphics card. Could I play games, yes, RTS and dungeon crawlers on pretty high settings but anything like mmorpg or FPS I would have to run on low setting and some where still painful. I hope that answer your question.

Yeah, well I`m not really plannig on playing any mmorpg`s and really not that interested in FPS. Mostly strategy, especially the Total War series...there`s just two things. The newer Total War games are quite intense graphically, plus a lot of stress on the CPU due to so much script. There`s a new one coming out soon, probably towards the end of 2013, however I`m planning on building a desktop in say 2 years or so. Which I can hold out for.

But for example that one acer I posted should be able to run something like Skyrim on high settings right? At least that`s what a few reviews mentioned...so if it can run a game like that on high settings with no hick ups, I`pm pretty sure it`d be just fine for my needs.

Edit:

What about these two:

The one with the 730 GT will play Skyrim on pretty high setting I imagine since I look at the required specs for it on steam and for recommended setting is a Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX. To be honest though I am not sure how the 730 GT compares to the 640 GT and hopefully someone can shed some more light on that.

Just buy this. Buy a 3570 get better than console performance in PC games such as BF3, and you can upgrade the gpu later.

All up around $460. You will get the best bang for buck and miniaturisation with the Shuttle. Run games of the intel HD4000 you will be able to smash the xbox.

Plus, its upgradable (to a point).
