Hello Computer-forum,

I need help Picking out a desktop replacement/Gaming Laptop. I intend on playing a lot of the newer games such as Skyrim and other games of equal or greater graphical depth. Mostly I will be playing Guild Wars 2, and possibly Tera online. I need a laptop that can handle these games. Below I have listed a laptop that I picked out. Your feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PS: My price range is between $1,000-$1,800.

is there a reason why you need a gaming laptop? you will get better components that will last a heck of a lot longer if you build a desktop for gaming and get a cheap laptop for mobility. A $500 laptop leaves $1300 for a gaming computer, and that will get top end parts that will last 3-4 years. Laptop, you will be outdated GPU wise in probably 1-2 years.

The reason I want a laptop is so I can go downstairs and sit on the couch with my family and not be stuck upstairs in my room glued to a screen. I like to game a lot but I'd also like to be able to take it out of my room too. But you do make a valid point about the hardware being outdated quickly. I'd almost need both a gaming laptop and a gaming desktop to keep up with everything and still have the mobility. But thanks for the suggestion!

That video card will be a little less than a desktop-version of a 6750. It's not gonna get you the highest graphics ever. Especially with such a high resolution on that (1920x1080) the video card will struggle. That's why I don't like "gaming" laptops. You have to sacrifice resolution to play any game at all.
