Gaming Laptop Recommendation

Dude, your sig is wrong, to my knowledge there is only 1680 by 1050, no 1640 =P... I have heard some pretty bad things about cyberpower though, hows the tech support?

the 7600 runs all the best games out at the moment, but when my 1 year warrantee is up im sticking the 7950 gtx or whichever the best they have out then is.

are you sure about that? I was under the impression that you couldn't swap out video cards in laptops?

Thanks for the link Bramp.

i was reading about the new Asus g1 & g2 on engadget. sounds pretty sweet, but they also said that the price tag was going to probably be around $2000 & $2300 respectively. which, i kind of figured the new santa rosa platform with the 8600 would carry that kind of price tag...at least for the first few months. i've got to get the finances straight first, and i might as well wait and see what happens on the prices of the older laptops. i'm pretty sure that i'm going to go with an Asus barebones setup.

any thoughts on Gentech PC? they seem to get pretty good reviews, and they have good prices. just curious if anybody on here has any experience with them.

I never played AA, but WoW works on my laptop. It isnt too demanding of a game, as long as you have at least a gig of ram.

Wow is hardly a benchmark game though. I know that my 7900GS go begins to struggle with 1600by 1200 in BF2 with 2 gigs of ram and Core Duo @ 1.73. The 7600 has strengths in cost/heat areas but lacks in higher end performance.
