Whats the best quality gaming laptop I can get within this buget? It has to be wireless N network compatible, but it doesn't need a dvd burner. The OS doesnt matter to me.

Thnx in advance

The weight of the notebook doesnt really matter to me. I need it to be a notebook because i need it for college and I want to get into computer games since I always use an xbox.

Long story short, this will be my only computer and I need it to do everything while on the go with me

Well, have you thought about perhaps building a desktop, then getting a laptop for mobile usage? With a $3000 budget you could easily build a nice desktop, and get a decent notebook. Gaming notebooks really arent meant for portability, at best you can probably expect an hour of battery life from them. If not, then sager is the way to go, but only if you will be near an outlet pretty much 24/7(as with any gaming notebook).

I see what what you mean with the desktop and laptop route and Ive thought about this before. A desktop isnt an option mainly because there are constant family and little kids around. We had a Mac desktop and they completly destroyed it. Theres seriously no geetting away from it.

Figured a notebook would be safer around me than a stationary desktop would be in this environment. About the sagger, is it fine without customizing because if i make any changes it turns to $3000.

I would upgrade to the "45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q9000 / 6MB L2 Cache, 2.0GHz, 1066MHz FSB [+$165.00]"
