Gaming laptop

I was thinking about getting a nice laptop to replace my desktop. My limit is about $1500 and I want something that will last a couple years. Any suggestions?

what kind of games are you planning on to play on it?

if you'll be playing games like crysis, a 1500 dollar laptop won't cut it. you'll need at least 2500 dollars for a laptop to play the newer games on high settings. ;)
 
If you want to game, get a desktop. You'll spend stupid money trying to spec a future proof gaming laptop, and even then it won't compare favourably.
 
I just bought a Toshiba SLi 8600GT' s and I haven't got it yet, but all the reviews said it runs great and everything. It was around $1500.

I mainly wanted to Max out COD4, and I am sure it can, since a MacBook Pro with a Single 8600GT can do it.
 
I dont want games like crysis, I play EQ2 and CoD4 mainly. Do you think i should just upgrade my desktop or buy a new laptop?
 
Laptop in sig was $1700.

And the Desktop is good if you dont move around a lot. I got the laptop so I dont have to carry a Desktop to LAN's, a lot.
