gaming memory

what does overclocking your ram do? alright ive decided to get more ram, im going to get the same type, well there abouts, going for the crosair range. if anyone sees any good deals, please let us know.

188 bux over there for you guys, here it retails for 350!! thats just crazi. the memory ive got right now is around the 180 bux. you guys have got it easy compared to here. so yer, with the ram, with the timings, why is it better to get lower for gaming?

To see lower latency on most memory you would reduce the memory timings to see that drop. A memory that already sees a low latency will run at the max speed like 400mhz on DDR400 with the 200mhz setting in the bios. Newer boards of course now take advantage of the Hyper Transport type of fsb that transfers data faster from DDR400 memory. Faster memory is a gamer's delight there.

That's a pair of 512mb performance dimms if you are running xms series memory. Your sig shows 3200C2 but not which are usually the CMX512-3200 C2 xms series memory with that product number. For added performance with a list of the newer "memory hungry" games you would simply boost that to 2gb with the price of a new pair of 1gb dimms. When that was done here the increase also saw a different brand as well as type. Kingston Value Ram has done great here for everything.
