Hey Guys,
Yesterday I got all them parts and spend the day enjoying crafting my system. So good so far. After everything was set-up I hit the power button and -viola it starts to boot. After a beer and some food and ready to rumble I started the cable management, and made a usb stick boot rdy with windows 7 x64. Plug the stick in and - nothing. My screen does not show anything, so it seems that Bios does not get into post and doesn't start to boot. So ill checked all the cables and the q-code error messages which tells AE (legacy boot event) or A2 (IDE detect) A0 (IDE initialization is started). Google helps, find some comment about the GPU. So I unplugged everything except RAM CPU, and yep, pc boots again. I than unplugged only the GPU and yep it boots again. So only with th GPU power plugged in it doesn't not boot. Thought it might be a OS/boot problem so installed windows7 without GPU on the SSD but this obviously did not changed a thing. I also tried to install the GPU drivers in windows but without it plugged the program cant detect it and wont install the drivers (doubt it that this would help anyway). Tried to flash the Bios with the .cas files from Asus based on this guide. But after the pc stops reading the USB stick and I restart the pc does the Bios shows me the same build date (04/25/2013) and not the one from the Asus page (2013.06.03 update). Also did not fixed the boot problem. So far so good, no clue what to do. Other things that seems wrong: Even though win7 is installed on the SSD cant I choose it in the Boot priority (though via F8 to boot from it), only DVD RW and the 1TB sata. Also RAM is recognized with 1600 mghz and not the 2400. Lots of text
Appreciate any help or ideas!
Cheers
ps: I do not have a dvi cable to connect the GPU directly to the screen instead via MB. Worth to buy?
