Hello Again All.

In the Up-coming weeks, I will be receiving a Budget of $1500 AUD to build a computer.

They want:

Speed
Quality Graphics In Game's
Play Latest Games
Look Cool.

That was the Criteria i recieved haha. . .

So, Im thinking of going:

Intel Core2Duo or Core2Quad.

or

AMD6000+

What does everyone think?

Also.

Do you think SLI would be worth it?

Or one 8800 GT(Haven decided yet) Would do it.

I am In Australia, So NewEgg.com is useless unfortunately :(

Thanks all.

Ps. I just need your info on the questions, Don't worry bout finding Parts :D

Thanks.

I'm aussie too, I reckon you should get a Quad Q6600, I'm also getting one, 350 dollars an probs get a 8800GTS..

Yeah the GTS unless you can somehow manage to fit a GTX in the budget without skimping.

Edit: No games support the quad now. But HL2 episode 2, Crysis, alanwake and a ton other future games will.

Yeah, I had the GTS in mind, But which one.

Nutter, i had the Q6600 In mind too. :D

I say the 320Mb. Even when gaming at a 1900 x 1200 resolution the FPS remains the same between the two (according to Guru3D and a couple others).

Some say the 640Mb will be better for the future, though I'm not entirely convinced.

Buy the Q6600 and you will be fine, get it here for 350 bucks lol. Cheap as.

I reckon if you want to play all maxxed resolutions on a 22" monitor (1600x1200 or sumthin like that) then GTS will do it (prolly only just), or if u really wanna spend, go to gtx. I think it's no use going to gtx if ur using any smaller monitor

Oh ok, are Slacks Creek or Morningside close to you? If so, I could give you prices from msy. If not, tell me where you'll be buying from, and I'll help you out. :)
Cheers,
Mitch.

Dude. My Names Mitch. haha!

Hmm, Are they in Brisbane or something are they?

I Use Umart They have always seemed good on prices.

Lol, hmm 2 Mitch's, that are 16, and are Aussie. Oh what's the chances of that.
I'm not sure, I just like MSY, I use them myself. I wouldn't know where they are, since I'm in Victoria. I'll go have dinner, and build you something. :)

Yeah that is wierd aye.

So do they have a Webpage?

Are they Reliable?

Save me some dinner man!

Yeah www.msy.com.au
Reliable? Yes, I'm basing that on my experiences with them.
No dinner for you.:D I ate it all. MMmmm. Chicken. :D
Hahaha.
All Right onto the system.

Video Card- Albatron GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Dual DVI HDTV SLI PCI Express$389
CPU- Intel ATX E6750 CORE 2 DUO 2.66GHz/4MB CACHE/1333FSB/LGA775 $239
Mother board- Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 S775 P35 FSB1333 DDR2 PCIEx16 SATA2 GbLAN RAID ATX VDBIOS $176
RAM- DDR2 Twin2X 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-6400 Corsair $185
PSU-Corsair HX-620 ATX Power Supply 120mm fan Dual PCI-E Graphics Card Connector 8 SATA Connectors $169
Case-Antec P180B Performance One ATX MidiTower(no PSU) $186
Hard Drive- Western Digital 400G SATA 7200 rpm HDD (16MB Cache) $139
Optical- Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x Dual DVDRW Black OEM $44
They are prices off umart and that comes to $1527.
You could drop the PSU down to 520w and save $26 and you could drop the Hard drive down to 320gb and save $40. If $1500 is the absolute max, I'd suggest lowering the capacity of the Hard Drive, the extra watts might be handy.
