hi guys,
i've got a game need for speed most wanted and the problem is that the game laggs sometimes and i have met the requirements of the game. this is really getting on my nerves. my graphic card is an ati radeon 9200 se 128mb running on a 3GHz, 512 ram. ive downloaded the latest ati driver software but nothing has changed.thanks in advanced.:(

Meeting the minimum requirements of a game doesn't nessecarily mean smooth play. If other older games play well on your machine, then it probably isn't a problem per se. It could be your graphics card isn't fast enough to give you smooth play.

If you download and run 3DMark05 and post your score, it would help understanding if it is a hardware limitation.

Edit: You could also run This system analyszer and see whether it meets the recommended requirements of the game.

need for speed most wanted is a demanding game. You should realy be using a 256mb gfx card for a more smoother game. Your specs realy are the minimum requirements.

The amount of RAM has little to do with performance as opposed to the GPU. A 256mb FX5200 will not beat a 128mb 6600GT.

atomichybrid: Your grahpics card is probably your bottleneck right now. The only option for that is a new one, unless you can deal wiht some lag.

It is probably slowing down because it is loading from the hard drive during the game (since the entire map is never completley loaded), do a Defrag and then post ur HD specs. It occasionally slows down for me at random times if I dont defrag for a long time.
