my brother gateway is turning on but when it get passed the windows loading screen it just shuts off. i tryed booting in windows save mode that didnt work. any ideas?
 
If its shutting off, it sounds like a heat issue. Open the case and blow out the dust bunnies especially around the cpu fan.

it turned on and i was working on getting speedfan installed and she just turned off so i felt around in there the cpu heatsink isnt to hot but there is a little black heatsink thats on fire.
