Gateway Laptop LCD Cable

I need a new LCD cable for my Gateway Solo 1450. I do not have a wireless NIC in this computer. The part number for the cable in my laptop is DDOEA3LC307. There is a new (not used) cable on eBay for the same model computer model but WITH a wireless NIC. Its part number is DDOEA3LC200.

My question is can I use the cable for the laptop with the NIC and just leave the connector for the NIC secured out of the way?

I can't say for sure, but you should be able to do that... I suspect the only difference would be a set of antennas or something. I can't see what else from the wireless NIC that would go into the LCD :P I also do know that's typically where the antennas are.

The connector for the wireless NIC looks to be a multi-pin connector as if the wireless NIC is mounted behind the LCD in the lid. I asked the eBay seller if this would work and he replied no. I still can't see why it wouldn't work.

My original problem started about a year ago when the display would go blank intermittently. Moving the lid back and forth would cure the problem. Now it is blank all of the time. I took the display apart and I can shine a light through the LCD and the screen is displays properly.

My thought is that the cable has gone bad from all these years of flexing. Another interesting thing is that all of the computer parts sellers on the Internet are all out of stock on this cable. Coincidence?

Any more thoughts?
