I bought my girlfriend a gateway mx3222b as she's going away for a couple of weeks and needed something to take with her.
It only has 256MB (DDR2 PC2-4200) RAM, i found the specs and it can hold 1GB maximum in the 1 and only slot it has.
I installed a 1GB PC2-5300 and it wouldn't even go to the BIOS screen, then i tried 512MB PC2-5300 and same again, and also with 1GB PC2-4200.
My research is coming up with others suffering with this gateway problem (not just the mx3222b), but no sollutions.
All i could determine is it has something to do with the actual type of chips used on the modules, but that was it.
If anyone could help me out on this it would be much appreciated.
