Gateway Monitor keep turning off

I have a gateway 900g Lcd monitor. Had it for a few months. First the DVI input would on and off work. Vga worked fine until now. When the computer starts up it works, then the display goes black. The power light is still blue, so it is on. If you turn it off then back on it works fine for about 15sec then goes black again. I tried shining a bright light at it, and it is not displaying an image at all. Lots of people are having problems with gateway monitors, but no real solutions. Some say bad caps, but this thing is about 2005, I cant see it having bad caps. My Lafayette 3030a is 35 years old and the capacitors are good. Any help would be appreciated.

It is most likely bad capacitors (since this model is known for it). Being from 2005 doesn't mean anything, I just replaced bad capacitors in an LG monitor from 2008. Regardless, you'll have to open it for any sort of repair, so you might as well go ahead and get it open and if the caps are bad you'll likely be able to tell right away.
