Gateway On board

I have a 702GE gateway computer, and I cant get the sound card to work.

Its on board.

I am running XP Pro.

I went to the gateway site, and tried to download the motherboard and sound card drivers. It kept having a message pop up with 'Yes' 'No' 'Cancel'

And if you continually keep pressing yes, it would complete itself.

But still nothing.

I am not getting speaker or headphone noise.

Thanks

First make sure your speakers are turned on.
Second, check your volume on windows, and volume on speakers.
After you ruled out the basic stuff..

Make sure you installed the drivers correctly:
Download...
http://support.gateway.com/support/...dio Driver Version: 5.10.0.5136&uid=163381022
Install...
Installation

1. Download the file to the desktop.

2. On the desktop, double-click the HDRealTek5136.exe file. The needed files extract to the C:\Cabs\HDRealTek5136 folder.

3. From the Start menu, click Run.

4. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\HDRealTek5136\Setup.exe. Click OK.

5. In the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Setup dialog box, click Next.

6. In the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Setup dialog box, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish.

7. The computer restarts.

8. In the Attention dialog box, to restart the computer, click Yes.

Last but not least, it could be that the device or speakers are damaged, did you check in device manager for any conflicts or failures?

Better yet, just check the device manager, hell, you run LAN parties, I reckon you would know to have the speakers on:rolleyes: I think you could fix this one without the common sense stuff being put in this thread. Anyway, check and see what is going on in the device manager, has it worked before?
