hello everyone. thanks for taking your time and reading this post.

i have big problem that i dont know what to do.
i have gateways desktop for about 4 months, and i have problem that they wont fix. My PCI-E slot is dead. I have tested it with 3 diferent card and none of them are detected. I have paid for best bay tech guy tested it and he said that pci-e slot it dead. I have send it twice to Getaways repair center and each time no results. 1st time i send it they said pci-e slot is tested and it has detected card. which is not true. They told me i need different card my card is bad. 2nd time i send it back to them with good working card and power supply. They said its third party device and they are not responsible to fix it. Card is good and everything else is good i even restored comp (maight be virus infected) took a little battery out from motherboard to reset it.bought different power supply nothing helps. Its slot thats bad now. they sending it back to me not fixed i really dont know what to do anymore because i made about 30 phone calls to temple tx where repair center is.Costumer support is below ZERO i have paid over night shipping and they send it to me ground. Please help me i bought new Nvidia 8800 gt OC + 2g of ram + 550 w ps i have spend toomuch money on this one. I cant just give up. Please please please halp me. You can write email [email protected]

Did you purchase a warranty? Even if you didn't, there may still be a basic 6-month one on place or something similar. That sucks you're getting the run around from them. My advice (if it is in fact under warranty) - KEEP CALLING. Become a royal pain in their ass until then agree to replace/refund whatever it is that's causing the problem. You might also want to look into contacting the BBB and filing a complaint against them. You'd be absolutely amazed at how quickly companies respond to that kind of stuff.

Yeah, what's going on here is total BS. If the PCI-E slot is damaged, you can't easily replace the mobo on your own, so they need to fix this issue.
