For now, no difference. The "G" was added when 'DDR2' came around for mobos and VCs (because DDR2 for mobos and DDR2 for video cards were not alike). If you've not guessed it, G is for graphics. GDDR3 evolved on GDDR2 by adding signal terminators to clean up the signals and prevent/clean rebounds/noise as to allow for higher clocks
