Why does everyone to say to order from newegg.com? They seem to be mroe expensive then alot of retail stores, of geeks.com I've been very happey with geeks.com for online buying.

It doesn't have as big as selection as newegg but alot of it seems to be cheaper, and kind of slow customer service but GOOD, My case came with a dent in it, explained how it came provided a picture, and they gave me a FULL refund and I didn't even have to send the case back. So I got a free case with a small dent in the top rear so you barly even see it.

and for Newegg unless your getting 1 or 2 big things its not even worth it, if you get several small things, shipping seems to be 5$ a peice at least!

geeks.com combines shipping, my case was 8$ to ship, my DVDdrive&CD burner, and mouse, and keybored, and mousepad(with lights) and fan, sound card, floppy drive, and new ide cable shipping was only 7$, total ended up beiing 58$.

And shipping is fast, for example on my case, It took them a day extra to actulyl ship it(even though i ordered very early in the mourning) but it came the SAME day as they deilvered. I payed standeed they sent 2 day, I was close to them though so thats prabally why it came same day.

I havn't actully tryed newegg(I seem to be able to find cheaper at geeks.com or at retail) but whats so great about them what makes everyone use them?

well some of neweggs products are more expernsive and some are cheaper.
for example on geeks a sony 1gb mem stick for the psp is $80 while on newegg its $74...
and for Newegg unless your getting 1 or 2 big things its not even worth it, if you get several small things, shipping seems to be 5$ a peice at least!
true, so just dont buy small things...i bought all of my comp parts at newegg b/c it was cheaper than any other store even with shipping.

also i like how newegg has a lot of products, shows the specs, and the ability to read and post reviews on the products. its also nice that the standard shiping is 3day UPS unlike most where the cheapest is UPS ground which is longer.

Yeah Geeks.com has a LOT less of a selection, but there hasn't been once where i havn;t been able to find something cheaper then newegg, not nessasailiay at geeks.com though, alot of stuff they dont even carry ;)

LOL! Well that's prabally because there warehouse is located in the US so country to country get's a little expensive ;)

They don't seem to have a lot of variation, the best video cards I could find was a GeForce 6600GT 256MB GDDR3 and the X800XT 256MB.

I'm just kind of leerie (SP?) about buying stuff online. I will pay the extra 5% if it gives me the peace of mind that the product will come in in one piece.

heres a good example, for the AMD X2 4400+

Newegg.com: $497
Geeks.com: $540

Or the AMD Athlon64 4000+

Newegg.com: $334
Geeks.com: $380

So far all the products i've seen were more expensive on geeks.com, and they dont have as much variety. And i like how newegg has fast and cheap shipping on larger items.

again, I'm not saying that geeks.com itself is better then neweggg.com, just neweggs varity owns geeks.com, they are both cheaper at alot of thingsthey others, just the things that geeks does have, many of them are cheaper, and prabally because they got them at insane prices like alot of ther stuff, and is prabally why they have low varity, my main point of this is neweggs high prices, what i cant find at geeks.com i can find retail cheaper, mainly at frys electronics and micro center.

Newegg is one of the cheapest places i found. I shop there not just because of the prices, but because i like there selection, there site layout, there professional look and support, and there fast shipping. I wont buy from any place other than newegg unless the price difference is extremely lower.
