GeForce 7900GT 256MB best video card under $200?

What do you guys think? I have asked before but all the options just make my head hurt.

well the 8600 ultra is coming out in march. It has the potentail to be more powerful than the gt in dx9 games PlUS it'll be dx10 compatible. and it'll be 180 bucks.
 
the ultra? or the 7900gt? The ultra will play all games right now,, and if you need alittle extra power in the future you can pop another one in sli.

Any chance you have any specs on the 8600 ultra? or arent there any specs out yet?

specs on a 8800 gts:
96 shaders
core speed: 500
mem speed:1600
ram: 320, 640
320bit

8600 ultra:
64 shaders
core:500mhz
mem: 1400mhz
ram: supposedly 256/512
256bit

as always subject to change.

How many pixel piplines on the 8600 Ultra?
 
Is the 8600 going to be as big as the 8800? Unfortunately my computer cannot fit that size. I only have room for one row, and those cards need two (does that make sence?) . That is why I am looking at this card.
 
Not sure about the pipes yet.. numbers are flying around the net but i dont trust them. And the 64 shaders are reffering to stream processors, a new type of shader imployed in the g80 lineup of cards.

Also i'm under the impression the 8600 ultra will be no larger than the 7600gt. So if you can fit a 7900gt you can fit an ultra. :)

Now I have no idea what to do! lol I want to play games now but if that other one is better I guess I can wait. Comes out next month right?
 
according to the latest news it is, oregonian.. I just noticed your from oregon too! What part? I hail from portland.
