Hey, My friends has a 8500gt and spent 170 dollars on it i thing over summer break if not around there, he wants to know is there a big preformance difference between that and the 8600gt and is it better then 7600, or where does come on pare with the 7 series

It's a small jump. Get a HD3850 and he'll be MUCH happier.

yea the hd 3850 is actually better in comparison on tomshardware.com then the almighty 1950XTX

if thats not worth 180$ then i really dont know what is.

8600GT won't do squad in real DX10... the HD3850 on the other hand...

The 8800GT is the best value at the moment. He would be the happiest if he got that card. The performance is just phenomenal for its price. It has the new G92 core.
