Get better FPS out of crysis, w/ 250gts

Hey guys, i got a 250gts for christmas, and on enthusiast settings i get about 17FPS on average.I play at 1650/1050.

But when i put all my settings on low, everything, the FPS only goes up to 23FPS? What gives???


The rig is in my sig...

Is there an update avaliable a patch or something?

Don't say get new hardware, cause im not...
 
not sure if it matters, but try without the readyboost. If crysis is trying to use the extra memory, then it will run into slowdowns trying to write to a memory stick.

Also I don't know my AMD processors, but is that a dual core?

I have a GTS 250 as well, and I get 17 fps at max settings as well, but low I can easily play at 60 or above.
 
Sorry, i havent updated that part i don't use readyboost anymore, cause it made my performance worse lol.

Its wierd, cause even when i put the res at 800/600 on low, lowest possible settings, i only get about 28fps. Its soo weird?

I have the latest drivers as well, 195 i think it was.
 
I got 55+ fps on the lowest settings with a prebuilt Gateway DX4200-09 and a sparkle 1gb gts250. On high I got slightly over 20. Now that I built this new rig in my sig its 10-15 fps higher on High with the same graphics card. Not sure what it will do on the low settings.

Im not sure whats up with your setup but what your saying seems fishy to me.

I play at 1650/1050.

I know its the strangest thing ever, when i used my old 8400GS on 800/600 it would get in the 32fps range, im like WTF, the 250 is about 3x the preformance of the 8400gs.
 
play with your gts250 at 800x600, you will get amazing fps, also-make sure anit-aliasing is off or at 2x

I tested with my res at 800/600 and everything on low.

And the range over about 3 minutes went to 18-40FPS

40fps being when im using a scope, w/o it went to about 28fps on average.


The average range was around 25-31FPS.:o


On MW2 i get about 80FPS with everything on high.

EDIT: i had the cpu usage up, and i was only using 44% :O thats not very good, all the other games there at 85+ percent.

I knew crysis was intensive but damn! My 4850 gets more fps than that at 1280x1024. 35fps average.

If we are talking crysis, get the 1.2 patch, if your playing warhead or crysis wars get the 1.5 patch.

Im downloading 1.0 patch for crysis warhead directly from the site, is 1.5 for both warhead and wars, or just wars?
