Geting new hard drive...question.

Hi all,

I should be receiving a nice Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB drive off Funkysnair in the next couple of days to replace my old drive...Now i know he will have formatted the drive probably within windows,But should i format it again using a Low-Level Format, Zero-Fill ?

Will it perform nicer if its completely wiped?...i just want it to be like new with nothing on...and i will be installing Windows 7 fresh on it :)

the drive has not been formatted, the drive has had the partiton deleted completey, so when you recieve the drive you will have to format and partition it yourself!

basicly its back to the way it was when i bought it, the drive has never had more than say 30gig used on it and that was when i used it as my primary drive for less than a week
 
its all good then,saves time....just shove it in,Format and install 7.

Still nothing yet Funky :cool:
Also waiting on my mobo/ram too from royal mail.
 
yeh man drive is good to go.... (once it gets there)

royal mail does suck, i think next time i will pay for next day delivery recorded

they say 1st class recorded is poor for tracking packages due to the fact that they only log when they have left and when they arrive with no information for the process in between
