Hey guys!
Im new to the computer building world and was hoping i could get some help with compatibility and the like. Here are some parts I was looking at on www.tigerdirect.ca (a canadian site)

eVGA GeForge 7800 GT 256 w/ Motherboard

AMD 64 4800+ 2.40Ghz Dual-Core Processor
Socket 939

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Sound Card

XG Red Dragon Aluminium ATX Mid-Tower Case, clear side, 5 fans and 500 watt power supply

Corsair TWINX Dual Channel 0024 mb 2x 512 MB 533mhz

Seagate 250 GB Hard Drive

and the cd rom and burner from old CPU.

How does this sound? Are there any compatibility issues?
I use the computer for gaming and I am a huge multitasker, i will play a game check email MSN and install something all at once, normall causing my comp to crash :P. Will this system do the trick? Any Building tips?

Appreciate it

David

What are the specs for the mobo?
You may want to swap that PSU that comes with the case for a more reliable one.
Maybe remove the sound card and try and upgrade to 2gb ram? Although 1gb is definately sufficient

Just some thoughts

go for the 2Gb ;) Games like F.E.A.R already like to have more than 1 Gb.
Also, maybe spec down to a 4600+ or a 4400+, and get a 7800GTX :)

but that Ram?.. is that DDR, or DDR2? ( 533MHz.) because the athlon only supports DDR ;)

for a sound card try goin with the creative sound blaster x-fi xtrememusic instead of the zs gamer. i was debating between the 2 of those cards and i wanted the zs because it comes with all the software but i ended up goin with the x-fi because its top of line new equiptment. and i couldnt be happier with my descision. and if im not mistaken i beleive they are the same price. and plenty of people around here can vouch that the x-fi is a great card.

K made those changed now looks like

M452-7800 :: MSI GeForce 7800 GTX / 256MB DDR3 / PCI Express / SLI / Dual DVI / VIVO / Video Card
1

M115-2012 :: XG Red Dragon Aluminum ATX Mid-Tower Case Case with Clear Side, Front USB, Firewire and Audio Ports and 500-Watt Power Supply
1

TSD-250AS :: Seagate / 250GB / 7200 / 8MB /S-ATA-150 / Hard Drive with NCQ
1

C19-4222 :: Crucial Ballistix 1024MB PC4000 DDR 500MHz Memory
2

C44-3232 :: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI Sound Card
1

CP1-A64-4800 E :: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ / 2MB Cache / 2000MHz FSB / Socket 939 / Dual-Core / Processor with Fan

What power source is recomended? My compurer is normally on 24/7 so i dont want it overheating. How many watts?
What motherboard will work well with this setup?

Thanks again

that does look like a very very nice setup. any mobo will really work wit that setup. just make sure its socket 939 (i think 939 is right) has a pci-e slot and a pci slot as well for ur sound card. but besides that it looks very good.

What about this?

DFI Lanparty NF4 UT SLI-DR NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard / Audio / PCI Express / Gigabit LAN / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID

Thanks

go for a samsung spin point as they have beaten raptors in quite a few tests and half the noise of a raptor i have one and they are extreamly good also what are the specs of the psu if you have that rig you would prob need a stable and efficiant psu

Are there any other products at all i need to purchase to make this think work ( i wanna do it all in one trip)
I have so far...
Mouse
Keyboard
Speakers
Monitor
Burner
DVD Drive
Floppy Drive

and il be getting
Case (w/ Power supply and fans)
CPU
Memory
Hard Drive
Video Card
Sound Card
Motherboard
Thermal Gel

Is there anything else i would need for the computer to run? Will all the wires and needed accessories be included? O and I have an OS to run on it.

Thanks Again

I personally think both of your case options are ugly, but I would go with the second one. I put my last older PC in a Aspire X-Plorer case and I love it.
