Getting a New Desktop

Okay so.

I disabled my video card in the bios, and enabled my onboard.

But now it isn't recognizing my onboard card....

I went to nvidia.com and installed the default drivers, since they did not have the choice for a GeForce MX 4

I also installed the nForce 2 drivers, since that is what my mobo has. Still, nothing. I go to properties > settings > advanced, and it has NO info on my video card. Help quick please.

Well you already know what I use the computer for in my first post. I don't think I even need a DX10 card?

You may not need it at the moment, but after 1-2 year when DX10 start becoming a standard. Then you will think why you are not getting the DX10 card at the first place. Even you may considering a new card in 2-3year time, I think it would worth more when you re-sell it in ebay at that time.

Why isn't it a good choice?

I am not saying it is bad. But if you spend over $215 for a DX9 card, then why not spending another $50 for a DX10 card? Also, NVIDIA already say they will release the 86 series card very soon.
By the way, I saw a quite interesting comment in other forum.:D
They say at the moment, NVIDIA the best GPU is the GF88 series, while ATI is still X1950. So, we should buy the ATI X1950 rather than GF7950 if they are in similar price, because theorically you are having the best ATI card...

What DX10 cards can you get for $50 more?

Yeah, but then there's the thing about it consuming more power and such...

Why isn't it a good choice?

I agree with him that its not a good choice,Yeah the 7950 is a good card,But realy he would be better getting a DX10 card so hes ready for the new DX10 game releases;)

i wont be buying another DX9 card again.

it's $280 now in newegg but it will go down... it happened on me once and i was like @_@
but a few days later it goes back down to the right price so no worries :D

they are just following the market price... if the market price goes up then they would have to go along... else they would go on a deficit

Hmm based on his post, he isn't that heavy into gaming. Nothing at all wrong with the 7950 or the X1950 video card for what he is doing with his computer. As far as the standard in 2-3 years, guess what that means..yep the price of the DX cards will have fallen drastically when he does need one. If you think this isn't true, just look at computer part prices now and what they were when released new.

Ok so. The previous page, I stated a problem.

Now I want to continue on the problem.

So I took out my video card, and now I am on my onboard, and the computer does not restart anymore or do stupid things. I am wondering if I should buy a stronger PSU and it will work? (My current psu is 300 w)
