Hey all. about 3 or 4 days ago, i started getting bluescreens left and right in vista... so i reformat back to vista, same problem... then back to xp... same problem... getting random numbers such as 0x0000008e... so on and so on... do you think it could be my powersupply? my video card requires 32amps of power, where as my power supply is only giving around 22amps... but it has been working fine for about 2 months... but all of a sudden, BSOD's....

Dude, this is not an operating system issue as far as i know, its called a Blue Screen of Death, BSOD for short and it normally means you have an issue with your memory, as kof2000 suggested get your memory tested.

I can only suggest one memory testing tool which is:
Memtest86+
But i have not tested all of this program's capabilities.

And wouldnt it be best to check ALL of the ram instead of just the unused ram?

Testing all of the RAM will take like 1 hour to reach 1%, I've tried, Plus, if you have nothing running in the background, all un-used RAM is near enough all of it.

you need to test one stick at a time so that you can tell which stick is bad.

+1 don't use memtest...

also before manual testing the RAM change it back to original MHZ and try them....could be an overclocking problem

*btw* i was overclocking, but when i started getting errors, i just reset original settings, and set the general stuff back to normal *boot order, amd cool and quiet, so on...*

same situation here...But it's only happened in vista here due to sound card drivers...I get the same BCCode, sometimes different, but i've used windows memory diagnostics tool, (the long one that does it at boot) and completed it with no errors..so in short, check your drivers.

ok... get this... i have been running some crap ram for the last 1 or 2 days now... no problem..... i put back in my ram, check the voltges, and when it tries to boot, i swear to god, i get a very crude looking smiley face on the bottom left of my screen
