Getting lines in my scanned/coppied documents, help?

Hey, I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all in one printer and whenever I scan documents to my PC or make photocopies I get 1-2 vertical lines going down the document. How do I correct this? Thanks.

I figured it out with help from the HP website, I needed to clean the glass and feeding wheels. That solved the issue.
