Getting New AMD, Need help :)

I'm getting a new AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.2GHz and I was wondering, With the Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, How do I apply it? Just put a little spot in the middle of the Heat Spreader? Then put the fan+heatsink on?

put a little dot on the middle of the CPU, then spread it out, then put the heatsink-fan assembly on.

do not take off to see if it has gotten on correctly, it will get air bubbles then, thus, reducing performance. It will spread out over time. Do not touch it with skin. If so, get it off immediately.

On the CPU, not the heat spreader.

IN other words, not a glob of the stuff, but not a tiny drop either.

You want to use a small drop, about the size of a grain of rice, not much bigger.

Also, make sure that you have removed ant residue from the thermal pad if tthe stock cooler was installed.
