You should also get something a little better then X300
For everyday use an X300 should be fine. If there's gaming involved that's another story.

It doesn't look like a bad system overall for what you want to do. Its a little pricey though, I could build an equivalent system for at least a couple hundred less. Also it would be nice to know the brands of whats going into it which might not be possible short of calling them and asking.

I agree with Yeti that does seem over priced especially with no monitor included. If you are going to be using this to play video's and music then you need a better graphics card and get a separate sound card for much better sound quality

Can I contact you then. I want to build a new pc. and I'm too scared to do it myself.

what about ATI X600Pro 128MB Video Card w/TV,DVI PCI Express then? (add $60.00)

Seriously, building a PC has to be one of the most over-rated tasks in terms of difficulty. Its really just screwing a few screws and connecting a few wires. There are plenty of people on this forum, most of them more knowledgeable than me, to help and guide you every step of the way :).

As far as the video card - I noticed that you said you wanted to record video but I didn't see a TV-tuner card. You could get an X600 All-in-wonder which would act as both a video card and tv tuner card.

I didn't see one at TigerDirect...

The hardest thing about building a PC for a beginner would probably be mounting the CPU and heat sync. See if you can get someone knowledgeable enough to do that much for you, and maybe help you assembly it. You will see that there is nothing to be afraid of when building a PC. Just have someone walk you through the first time you build one.

An attitude to come into this with would be:

"If man can create it, build and modify it, I can learn to do the same"

Seriously, it is not difficult to do, it may just take a little time.

look for a shop... they usually are cheaper than buyin a pc through a store just order the parts and let them do it

here my new specs.

PRICE: $1,194.98 + 40.33 = 1,235.31

Very true

Thermal paste is such a pain in the a**:D

But everything else is just connecting cords, 24 pin cord goes in a 24 pin slot, 4 pin cord goes in a 4 pin slot....etc etc etc

But front access ports can be a pain, too

oh, i don't know one where one is at, i don't know i guess i just want a fresh start

i would recommend getting an external sound card ($30-$200) if you want to get good sound for games/music/movies/etc. Make sure your mb supports PCI express, which it probably does if its being built for you, all the rest sounds good though.

Get another 512 MB of ram

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't read the whole thread before is said that, and you already changed your specs to 1 gig, so just nevermind.
