Getting the most out of your RAM

I think it was here, where I read a thread about unlocking the full potential of your RAM?

Mine always stays at around 49% (2GB DDR2), and I am trying to figure out if I can get more out of it, and what, if any, benefits occur from it.

I've tried searching, and either A) I"m way too tired (just got done a 16 hour snow push), or B), I'm challenged.

Thanks :)

*EDIT* nvm, found it lol This can be deleted.

If you are only using a total of 49 percent of your ram then you don't need any more. You may be confused. Windows will only use as much as ram as it needs. So if you never go above 49 percent usage then you are fine. What do you use your computer for?

I have found that windows likes to use 25-30% of your ram, regardless of how much you have. I have 2GB now (i sold my other kit due to issues) and my memory usage is about 30%, or 550mb. When i have 4gb in my system windows idles on about 1.01gb of ram.
