getting there!! just a few ?'s

if 5ms is your definition of "smokes" then sure i guess. but in actual user interaction you wont notice it. Maybe loading off of that drive would be 1 or 2 seconds faster but for a 100 dollar price hike for the same size drive it is not worth it IMO. Caviar drives can net you more storage for a much much cheaper price, and you can even fiddle with Striping or mirroring your drives.

IMHO a 100 buck price hike for barely noticeable improvement is absurd, and yes I have used a raptor so Im not just guessing, from my experience I see no justification for the price

Yes, it is. If you look closely -I'm sure you have- there are other significant differences, IMO.

Of course you can. We're not talking about RAID, are we?

Fair enough. :)

Put everything together. If you have problems, remove a piece of hardware that you think is causing problems. Upon removal, start up the PC. If you're still having problems, remove something else. And so on...

awesome, well i just gotta wait now...the rest of my stuff should be here by the end of next week.. soo hopefully everything goes smoothly

BTW, the problems you discussed, I believe, are related to drivers. I'm not sure, however. You definitely want to install all the necessary drivers.

ok kool, i read ill jsut ahve to go straight to the manufacturers website and get the latest drivers there, and not use the disc the sound card and video card come with

Yes. Get the latest drivers - ahead of time. Sounds like a plan. Good Luck! :)
