GFX Card Fan Going Out?

I just purcahsed an 8800GT and it runs pretty hot (over 88C load) so I wanted to help cool it. RivaTuner (and Nvidia NTune Software) have fan speeds I can adjust to help cool it, and it works great. I changed the fan speed (from 29%) to 52% and it stays a lot cooler now (around 73C load)

This fan (and particularly the little engine that runs it) isn't going to get messed up/burned up or something is it? If it does, could I return it for a new one?

Register it online with the company you bought it from then it should tell you about a warranty... EVGA has my 8800GTX for a lifetime warranty :P No worries here...

88C is pretty bad, there must be another cause. You shouldn't have to crank the fans up to not get that high.

But if you continue, and they do burn out, and it's not covered by warranty, you can always get an after-market fan, Zalman or something.

I've heard some manufacturers void your warranty without the stock cooler :)

Re-apply thermal paste?
