Ghost files

Hi All,

Some time ago I was transferring some files to my backup HDD when I had problems with my computer (not related to the operation). End result is that the original directory has what I can only describes as ghost files of a few of the files. The file icon is just a white rectangle and if I try to delete them is says:-
This is no longer located in ......

What is going on and does anyone know how I can remove them, please.

Run a check disk on your backup drive. It may or may not help. If not, you may want to move any data off that drive and then do a total wipe and move data back to it.
