gigabit ethernet connection issue

Hello all ...can anyone help me plz
I bought a new motherboard soyo KT880 with gigabit ethernet but everytime i go on the internet or when i download something i get a message "network cable is unplugged" for like a second then it goes back on and it does that alot..... i tryed everything (it shouldnt be a software related problem cause i re-installed windows because of this ... :eek: but it didnt fix it)

could my cable effect it ? ( i'm using regular ethernet cable) or is the motherboard defective? could it be my router? can i do anything to fix this?

i have heard a lot of people who have had probs with gigabit ethernet. you might want to try lowering the speed to 100 full duplex and see if that helps. . .

apparently gigabit is not as robust as it was intended to be. . .
 
:o thanks for the advise ....that was a good idea, i lowered the speed all the way down like u said and i didnt get disconnected yet ! WOOT lol :eek:
