Hi, i read from the Nvidia site that a 8800 GTS should have a Memory Clock Speed of 800 mhz.

How come when searching online, Gigabyte's 8800 GTS' Memory Clock Speed always says 1600 mhz?

Is it a different interpretation or does it come overclocked?

Thank you

most likely what you said it's OC2ed. But with the GTS if it's and OC 320mb 8800GTS a normal 640mb 8800GTS Would be the better preformer.

GDDR is a dubble data rate, weather its dual channel or not it speed is 800Mhz and since its dubble data rate its dubbed since it does 2 operations in 1 pass.

"on the rise and fall of the clock cycle" yep. Most people still double the speed though. I'm sure it's because the manufactures said it first, They're are so misleading
