glass mouse pad? worth?

That's an older model there. I said nnaaaaaa... when first looking for a good mouse and then deciding on the trackball type. The other model by Microsoft other then the Trackball Explorer is where you use your thumb instead of index finger. After making that mistake I simply handed it away! Come to find out that the person that had it handed to him still uses it!
 
Im using a plain piece of paper as a mouse mat, and seriously i have had no trouble, but if its a lazer mouse use lined paper, to imporve results
 
With the optical mouse you can use any solid flat surface except something like a piece of cloth that will bunch up or any abrasive surface. Whatever you use make sure you can scroll across it smoothly.
