I've had my G75 for like 10 months now. The day I bought it I threw in dual SSD's, reformatted with Win7 Pro, added Corsair Ram, and I removed the matte screen it came with, and replaced it with a glossy one from a previous laptop.

I will admit, I mainly changed the screen cause I was used to glossy and I had the screen--

Last little while I've been contemplating selling it, and upgrading while its still semi-current and in great shape--should I swap it back to the matte?

Do more people prefer matte over glossy?

Throw out your opinions and thoughts for me...thanks..

If you are going to sell it, just leave the screen as is. Most people don't give a rats behind what screen it has.

Now that aside, I would never willingly buy a gloss screen again. Personally, I got used to the ability to use my Dells (M90 & D630) outside without glare, and now my acer with the glare screen is just unusable. Makes a great view of the sky, but not of the tech manual that needs to be used.

While recognizing that matte is far more functional I prefer a glossy screen because:

-when at school in lectures I'm far less weary of people being able to see my shiz
-looks x100 times prettier
-easier to clean

Leave the screen as is, it's a crapshoot as to which people prefer. I prefer glossy because it gives the image on the screen more punch, and it's 99% of the time used inside. Other people will prefer matte because they use it outside lots, and glossy sucks balls outside.

I would leave the glossy, most people don't care plus I would be willing to say glossy will sell better being most laptops I have noticed come standard with glossy these days, here and there I see a matte but I will see twice if not three times the number of laptops coming with glossy. At this point if matte would help PC sell better then you would probably see more matte screens then glossy in stores.

Personally I don't really care about glossy because I can't think of one time that I have ever used my laptop outside, except for at night, which doesn't really make a difference whether it's glossy or matte. If your buyer uses it outside more often, go ahead and switch it to the matte. Other than that I can't really think of why else you would need to switch. Good luck!

I'd keep the matte, simply because I like it much better, so you could use it later. It's really all personal preference though.

Glossy looks better picture wise but it can cause serious glare issues. My monitor on my desktop is glossy and I have glare issues all the time inside. Totally up to the customer. Depending on how you're selling it you could offer to change the screen if they wanted for a small fee before selling it to them. Just leave it as an option.

Prefer glossy myself,Matt tents to show up ALOT of fingermarks and isn't as easy to clean imo.

If your selling it i would just leave it with the glossy screen, then sell the spare on Ebay or something.
