glossy vs matte display screen

i am about to buy a Dell 1420N laptop and have these options

Anti-glare, widescreen 14.1 inch display (1280x800) [Included in Price]

High Resolution, glossy widescreen 14.1 inch display (1440x900) [add $50]

I hear glossy gets bad relfections and glare but has better color. Matte is general good.

i prefer glossy, there isnt much glare, and the color and sharpness is worth it

I'm not sure what mine is but there's some reflection. It's a Toshiba Satellite A100-VA3.

I prefer glossy as I use my monitor to watch video. But if you just use it for word processing/ surfing, just get the cheaper one.

I prefer the glossy for it's vibrant colors and higher resolution. It's a pain in the ass to use outside on a sunny day though

I prefer matte simply because I have a big window behind me, also, my Vostro has matte because it will be better when flying, to not have a reflection all the time.
